Empowering youth through Education & Skill Enhancement

Education is key to the progress of any society and also to self development. In todays technology and research driven world it has gained paramount importance and even the manual work involves modern equipment.

Technical knowledge is often required to yield employment. Foundation has been giving various types of Skill Development Training to the girls, women, poor youth and students keeping in mind their educational background. Foundation always looks for the latest in demand Skill Development Trainings and makes it available to the needy.

Skill Development Centre

It was established at Katraj with the generous support of the Rotary Club of Poona Downtown, is a significant step towards empowering youth, women, and marginalized communities through skill-based education and livelihood opportunities. The Centre provides practical, hands-on vocational training to children of Janaseva Foundation while also offering employment-oriented courses for youth and women seeking jobs or self-employment opportunities. Training programs include Agriculture, Automobile, Carpentry, Fabrication, Electronics, Electrical, Information Technology, Beauty and Wellness, Bakery, Tailoring and Fashion Designing, Embroidery, Aari Work, carpentry, beautician etc.  and Entrepreneurship Development. To extend its reach, a Mobile Van creates awareness in urban slums and rural areas and facilitates safe transportation for trainees. Additionally, residential facilities at the campus ensure that distance and transportation challenges do not hinder learning, enabling beneficiaries to become skilled, self-reliant, and confident contributors to society.  

Mrs. Kumudben Madanbhai Sura Nursing School

Constructed at Ambi with donation given by foundation’s patron late Lion Madanbhai Sura in the name of his wife Mrs. Kumudben Sura started functioning from August 2002. It is recognized by Maharashtra Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council and conducts 2 years revised ANM training for 12th class passed girls. Every year a batch of 30 students is admitted in July-August. Girls from backward classes and from undeveloped areas like Amaravati, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara, Gondia, Nashik etc. are given preference and so also orphans and girls from poor families. Scholarship is awarded by Govt. of Maharashtra to BC, OBC, SC students. More than 800 students have passes out and are working in various hospitals on good salaries.

Besides nursing education foundation is providing school / college education and also the  professional training to the children from it’s Destitute Rehabilitation Centre and to the Street Children.

Mrs. Vimal Mutha Grooming Academy

This academy is in the premises of our Destitute Rehabilitation Centre at Katraj. It was established with a generous donation from Late Shri Lalchandji Mutha in the name of his wife Late Mrs. Vimal Mutha. He also donated 12 computers and 40 sewing machines. This centre was inaugurated on 1st June 2003.

Girls and women from poor families and also boys are given various types of vocational trainings e.g. tailoring, stitching, embroidery, bakery training, etc. For 10th / 12th pass girls and boys, computer training courses are arranged fortified by personality development, spoken English, Yoga & Meditation classes.

Smt. Achala Sachadev Institute of Education

This institute has been created with the generous donation given by late Smt. Achala Sachadev, veteran Hindi actress. Four months residential Wardboy Aaya training courses are conducted for 8th class youth from poor families specially from economically undeveloped areas. Course is structured to impart information about cleanliness, hygiene and use of various modern equipment. Successful candidates are awarded certificates and employment assistance.

 

Late Shri S.P. Malhotra Skill Development Centre

This hub was constructed with sponsorship from our then Patron late Bahri Shri B.R. Molhatra, Trustee Shri Ashwini Malhotra, Shri Mukesh Malhotra and the Malhotra family. Various types of skill development activities are carried out free of charge for the poor rural youth and women consisting of Computer Training, Tailoring, Stitching, Driving training specially for girls and women with tie up with various driving schools. Needy girls and women were provided sewing machines.

Geriatric Care Training

With rising elderly population there is rising demand for care givers trained in Geriatric Care.  Janaseva Foundation conducts Geriatric Care Training courses of 4 months duration for 12th class passed youth through it’s Regional Resource Training Centre sanctioned by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India. Previously such courses were conducted jointly with Tata Institute of Social Sciences. After completion of training the successful candidates are awarded certificates and provided placement assistance.

Computer Training for Disabled youth

Janaseva Foundation along with Dr. Reddy’s Foundation conducted this activity from 2015 for 3 years at its’ Destitute Rehabilitation Centre, Bhilarewadi, Katraj, Pune, for 10th class passed disabled and hearing impaired youngsters. Training programme was of 60 days which included Domain Training, Spoken English, Life Skills, Work Readiness Modules & Placement in corporate sector. Students were provided free accommodation, food and placement. More than 225 disabled youth took this training in 12 batches out of which 79% were placed in various companies.
