DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

Dr. Vinod Gajanan Shah

Chairman

Dr. Vinod Shah, born on 08-11-1947 in Mahad, Raigad, comes from a family of freedom fighters. After completing his early education in Dapoli, he earned his medical degree in gastroenterology from Pune University and furthered his training abroad but chose to return to India. Blessed by figures like Saint Mother Teresa, Revered Dada Vaswani and Baba Amte, Dr. Shah began visiting his birthplace, Mahad, every Sunday for over 20 years, providing medical care to over 100,000 people, from destitute individuals to State & Central Ministers. He has also conducted numerous health check-ups, ophthalmic camps, and endoscopies in western Maharashtra.

In 1988, Dr. Shah founded the Janaseva Foundation, where he serves as Chairman. Under his leadership, the foundation expanded from a small rented space to campuses at Ambi and Katraj, running over 18 projects with international recognition. Dr. Shah has been involved in various national and international organizations, contributing his expertise on aging to the UN, WHO, IFA, and HelpAge India. He has also published research papers and delivered over 100 lectures on aging and healthcare.

Dr. Shah’s work has earned him numerous awards, including two from the Presidents of India and the Lifetime Achievement Award from Pune University and Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University. His commitment to social welfare has earned him recognition as the “People’s Man,” and he continues to inspire future development projects through his belief in teamwork.
