Kumudben Madanbhai Sura Nursing School
The Kumudben Madanbhai Sura Nursing School at Ambi imparts nursing education to needy girls & women who have passed 10th -12th standard between the age group 17-35 years and helps them to be self-reliant. The fee structure is lower as some cost is borne by Janaseva Foundation. There is a provision of free admission per batch to 6-10 poor/destitute girls, with the support of GIVE Foundation, Lion Predmchandji Bafna, Shri Raj Sura etc.
The school duly approved and registered with the Maharashtra Nursing Council & Indian Nursing Council and conducts the revised A.N.M. Nursing course of one and a half year duration. It admits a batch of 30 students every year having so far trained 12 batches of students who have already started working and helping their families. Construction of separate buildings for our nursing school and nurses hostel is completed at Ambi. Nursing school has it’s own website http://kmsnursingschool.org.
Vimal Mutha Grooming Academy
Located in the premises of Foundation’s Destitute Rehabilitation Centre at Katraj, the Vimal Mutha Grooming Academy aims at imparting inputs as regards the overall personal development to the poor young girls and boys from surrounding villages and slum areas. The Academy provides poor girls, boys and women free training in computer operations, bakery, sewing, embroidery and the like with a view to promoting self-employment and self-reliance among them. Each batch of students stays at the Academy free of charge for 2 to 3 months which helps them pursue the study with concentration and accumulate sizeable experience in their own area. Special lectures on spoken English, personality development, yoga & meditation are arranged for each batch.
Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has given donation for purchase of latest computers for computer training and with this 8 new computers along with a printer is purchased.
Smt. Achala Sachadev Institute of Education
This institute has been created through the generous donation given by Smt. Achala Sachadev, veteran Hindi actress. Presently 4 months in-house wardboy aaya training courses are conducted for poor 8th class youth. Course is such structured as to give them information about cleanliness, hygiene and use of various equipments to facilitate easy employment. It is a free course with 3 months of in-house training and 1 months training in outside hospital. Successful candidates are awarded training certificates and employment assistant. So far all the students have got employment at various hospitals on good payscale. This course is totally sponsored by Accenture through CAF.
Research Centre (Recognized by the University of Pune)
One of the objectives of the Janaseva Foundation has been to undertake educational and research activities in the field of social work and gerontology. With this aim in mind, it established a full- fledged research center to conduct professional and applied research in these areas. This research will certainly help in understanding the problems of the aged people. The Centre has been recognized by the University of Pune for doing Ph.D in the areas of social health, old age and destitution.
It is a matter of great pride for the Foundation that Dr. Gururaj Mutalik, former director, WHO, USA, former Dean, B.J. Medical College, Pune, is attached to this Centre and has supervised successfully a doctoral dissertation of one of Pune University students. Foundation has appointed Ph.D guides recognized by University of Pune to give guidance to the students who wish to do Ph.D from this centre. This Centre also has close ties with such reputed organizations as International Longevity Centre (ILC), WHO’s South-East Asia Regional Office (WHO-SEARO), HelpAge India and International Federation on Aging (IFA).
